From supporting Trump’s efforts to undermine the will of Minnesota voters to defending health insurance companies that rip off working people, Ron Schutz has a long track record proving that he is not the leader that Minnesotans need.

Ron Schutz Fights for Trump, Not Us

Ron Schutz has already shown that he’ll work with Trump to undermine democracy in this country. Schutz is a member of a far-right legal organization, the Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA), which played a key role in Trump’s failed efforts to overturn the 2020 election and undermine the will of Minnesota voters. More recently, the RNLA worked “hand in glove” with the 2024 Trump campaign. 

Just like Trump, Schutz says he’ll use the state’s top law enforcement office as a weapon against his opponents. He threatened that if elected attorney general, he would issue “random subpoenas on people” and drag them in to testify in politically motivated fishing expeditions.

Ron Schutz Funds Hate Groups

Ron Schutz served on the board of and donated nearly $100,000 to a far-right organization, the Center of the American Experiment (CAE), that funded groups promoting racial hatred. 

Schutz’s organization gave half a million dollars to a designated hate group, The Horowitz Freedom Center, that uplifts and praises Islamophobia and denies climate change.

And Schutz’s organization donated over $600,000 to Turning Point USA, a far-right organization that fuels division by spreading hateful rhetoric about immigrants and the LGBTQ+ community.

Ron Schutz is actively fueling the type of hate that has cost people their lives.

Ron Schutz Defended Health Insurance Companies

During his time as a corporate lawyer, Ron Schutz personally represented a health insurer that was later accused of stealing $9 billion from Medicare.

Schutz represented health insurers that denied doctor-approved care, then donated to elected officials who voted to let those same insurers deny coverage for pre-existing conditions and drop people when they get sick. 

And Schutz supports Trump’s cuts to the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, to give tax breaks to billionaires and corporations. 

While Minnesotans are struggling to afford and access healthcare, Ron Schutz is siding with Trump and the corporations that are ripping us off.

Ron Schutz Supports Trump’s Deadly ICE Agents

When Trump’s masked federal agents killed Alex Pretti and Renee Good, Ron Schutz defended the agents who killed them. 

After Renee Good was killed by an ICE agent, Schutz supported ICE staying in Minnesota. He even said it was “okay with me” to call in the National Guard to protect ICE.

Ron Schutz is not the leader that Minnesotans need. He’s ready to bring Trump’s dangerous agenda to our state. The same agenda that stripped away our healthcare, increased the cost of everything from gas to groceries, and brought masked, violent agents into our communities.

Minnesotans deserve better than a Trump 2.0  in the attorney general’s office. 

We can’t let Ron Schutz win.
